RoboNation Partners with Japan Underwater Drone Association to Launch SeaPerch Program in Japan
ARLINGTON, VA and TOKYO, JAPAN — June 4, 2026 — RoboNation, a leader in global educational robotics programs, has officially partnered with the Japan Underwater Drone Association (JUDA) to launch the internationally recognized SeaPerch Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) program across Japan.
Through this milestone agreement, JUDA becomes the official distributor of RoboNation’s SeaPerch products in Japan. Additionally, JUDA will spearhead, organize, and manage SeaPerch workforce development activities, bringing hands-on marine engineering and robotics education to students throughout the country.

SeaPerch is a low-cost, entry-level underwater robotics program that equips educators and students with the resources they need to build an underwater ROV. The program introduces students to basic engineering, design, and science concepts with a focus on marine and ocean engineering careers. By constructing the ROV from a kit, students learn about buoyancy, propulsion, electricity, and water safety, culminating in an exciting, hands-on learning experience.
“Expanding the SeaPerch footprint into Japan with a trusted partner like JUDA is a thrilling step forward for global STEM education,” said RoboNation CEO Daryl Davidson. “JUDA’s expertise in underwater drone technology and their dedication to building a skilled workforce make them the perfect organization to inspire the next generation of Japanese engineers, scientists, and marine technology professionals.”
As the official manager of SeaPerch activities in Japan, JUDA will roll out educational workshops, training modules, and local competitions designed to align with workforce development goals. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the rapidly growing marine technology industry, providing students with practical skills highly sought after in the modern blue economy.
